Who we are
Big Island Booch brews kombucha, Jün, cold brew coffee and fermented foods in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. This policy explains what information this website (https://bigislandboochkombucha.com) collects, why, and what we do with it. We don’t sell products online, we don’t sell your information, and we collect only what you choose to send us.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you pick and your message.
When you use our wholesale order form, we receive your business name, your name, email address, phone number, delivery or pick-up preference, the products and quantities you order, and any notes you add.
We use this information only to answer you, fill and deliver your order, and keep you updated about your account. Form submissions are emailed to our team and a copy is stored in our website’s database so nothing gets lost.
Automatically: like most websites, our hosting and security providers log basic technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type and the pages you request — to keep the site running and protect it from abuse.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum:
- Age check — when you confirm you’re 21 or older on our Hard Kombucha page, a cookie (
bib_age_ok) remembers your answer for 30 days so we don’t ask every visit. - Wholesale order page — when you enter the page password, WordPress sets a cookie so the page stays open for you.
- Security — our hosting and security providers may set cookies that tell real visitors apart from bots.
Services we use
Some parts of the site are provided by other companies, which receive basic technical information (such as your IP address) when you load them:
- Google Maps powers the store finder on our Where to Buy page (Google Privacy Policy).
- Adobe Fonts serves the typefaces on this site (Adobe Fonts privacy).
- Cloudflare and SiteGround deliver, host and secure the website.
- Ekos runs our wholesale ordering portal. If you order through Ekos, their privacy policy applies to that account.
- We may use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site. It doesn’t tell us who you are.
Links and social media
Our site links to our Facebook and Instagram pages and to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we’re not responsible for them.
How long we keep it
We keep form messages and order requests for as long as we need them to serve you and keep ordinary business records. Ask us and we’ll delete your submissions.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser. The age check will simply ask again next time.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
